As an esoteric author and researcher, I’ve spent years studying ancient culures and their secrets. When I was granted exclusive access inside the tomb of Djehuty (TT 11), it was an exciting moment to explore a piece of ancient Egyptian history that the general public has not seen since for more than a 100 years!
The tomb, which has been closed since 1909 holds incredible secrets and insights about ancient Egyptian life and afterlife beliefs.
As I entered the tomb, I was struck by the beauty and intricacy of the unusual carvings on the walls, including what at the time I did not realize was a representation of the Ritual of “Encircling the Tomb”, a ritual apparently focussed on surrodunig the funerary monunent.
And the sense of history that permeated every ince of the space was also striking.
With only my iphone in hand, I was able to capture never-before-seen footage that offers a unique glimpse into this remarkable archaeological site.
